March is Mad!: Sweet 16 picks with the Underdogs

Written by J.J.

The Sweet Sixteen Bracket is Set!!!! I’m looking at some low seeds making a great impression in the tournament.
No. 11 Washington, No. 12 Cornell, No. 10 St. Mary’s….These teams can play and they can put a hurt on everyone’s brackets. Too bad my other Pac-10 team Cal didn’t make it past the Dukie’s but they played well.
Here are the match-ups for the Sweet 16. If you are curious, my picks are also for you to see.

No. 2 West Virginia vs. No. 11 Washington
TIME: 7:27 p.m.

No. 1 Kentucky vs. No. 12 Cornell
TIME: 9:57 p.m.

No. 1 Syracuse vs. No. 5 Butler
TIME: 7:07 p.m.

No. 2 Kansas State vs. No. 6 Xavier
TIME: 9:37 p.m.

FRIDAY’S GAMES
SOUTH REGION in Houston
No. 3 Baylor vs. No. 10 Saint Mary’s
TIME: 7:27 p.m.

No. 1 Duke vs. No. 4 Purdue
TIME: 9:57 p.m.

No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 6 Tennessee
TIME: 7:07 p.m.

No. 5 Michigan State vs. No. 9 Northern Iowa
TIME: 9:37 p.m.
While everyone is gearing up for the sweet sixteen. I will pick my elite 8 this week and see how things fair.
No. 11 Washington will out last No. 2 West Virginia
No.1 Kentucky will finally nip No.12 Cornell ( Unless Ryan Witman get’s hot again)
No.1 Syracuse will outlast Butler in 2nd half and pull away.
No.2 K-State will get a early jump on Xavier ( watch out for Jordan Crawford) or maybe Xavier will just back off of
K-State’s Coach’s intense persona.
No.10 St. Mary’s Strength will be their Center Omar Samhan, if Baylor cauases interior trouble this might go their way.
Baylor’s guards are more athletic, but I will stick with the underdog team.
No.1 Duke beats Purdue unless the Boilermakers can contain their energy and play under control which Duke does already.
No.2 Ohio St. will nip the Vols in a Close one (you’d think they can try to stop Evan Turner).
No.9 Northern Iowa will advance against Michigan thanks to the injury of Spartan’s gaurd Kailin Lucas.

There it goes. My prediction for the upcoming week.

MARCH IS MAD!!!! Evan Turner is a Head Turner on the Court.
I saw this kid play last year for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Evan Turner is a legitimate 6 ‘7 player that can do it all.
Smart player, knows how you use his Athletic Body, 6 ‘7 version of D’Wade, Plays Effortless. Thing is he’ll be behind John Wall in this year’s draft. Whoever drafts him is going to have an ALL-Star.

2010 Year of the Retro: Nike Air Go LWP

Written by J.J.
Before the Shox, the Hyperdunks, flywire technology, etc. There was the Nike Air Go LWP (Light Weight Performnace). The lightest basketball shoes out there back in 94′. Yes for the newbies, it’s just as light as the Hyperdunks.

Ladies and Gents, this is One Basketball shoe in the Waiting for all Ballers out there. It’s been 16 years in the waiting but The Nike Air Go LWP (Light Weight Performance) will make a return during the 2010 holiday season.

The Nike Air Go LWP was one of the first sneakers Penny Hardaway laced up in the NBA. Although this sneaker is a part of Penny’s signature sneaker line, it is mostly associated with him. I cannot be more excited than this. I played in my Nike Air Go’s till the soles were worn out and the air bubble popped due to the constant balling on the hot summer blacktop. With it’s resurgence this Christmas, it is one hot shoe for all the Ballers out there.

Beware of Mascots
Written by J.J
When I go watch a live basketball game, I go have fun. One of the better parts of the game is the entertainment that goes in between the time outs and half times. The Mascots of the Home team play a very important part of promoting the team; By having fun and interacting with fans. Fun is the key and Houston Rockets Mascot, Clutch has himself some fun scaring some fans. It only gets better near the end of the video. Enjoy the full experience of a basketball game. BEWARE of the MASCOT.
